156 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 25, On motion of Mr. Johnson, Leave was granted to" Messrs. Johnson, Langrell and Franklin, to report a bill establishing a road law (or Wi- comico county. On motion of Mr. Porter, Leave was granted to the Committee on Education to in- troduce a bill, entitled an Act to repeal sections 2 and 3, of chapter 2, and chapter 18 of ,111 Act, passed at the January Session, 1870, chapter 811, entitled ' An Act to repeal an Act, passed at the January Session of 1868. entitled ' Public Education," providing a general system of free public 8 schools for the Suite of Maryland, and to repeal all laws in-consistent therewith, and to re-enact the same with amend-ments," and to .sub-stitute in lieu of .sections 2 and 3, of chap-ter 3 and chapter 18, the following, making the Boards of County School Commissioners* and District School Commis-sioners elective by the people, and granting additional facil- ities lor tin1 education of colored youth. On motion of Mr. Colton, of St. Mary's, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake-Bay and its Tributaries, to introduce a hill, entitled an Act to repeal section 41 of the Code of Public General Law.'--, en-titled " Oysters," and to re-enact the same with amend-ments. On (notion of Mr. Turner, Leave was granted to (lie Baltimore County delegation to introduce a bill authorizing and requiring the Commissioners of Baltimore County, to build a bridge over Jones' Falls at Roger's Avenue, in said county. On motion of Mr. Bowie, Leave was granted to the Prince George's delegation to in- troduce a bill to repeal sections 47, 48, and 50,,of Article XVI. oi the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled " Prince-George's County." On motion of Mr. Clark, of Montgomery, Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means to intro duce ii bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 4 of an Ace passed, January Session, 1868, chapter 466, entitled an Act to run, mark, and define the dividing line between Prince George's and Montgomery comities, and also to > repeal the Act, passed at the January Session, 1870, chapter 471, relating to the same subject, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
