Messrs. Stone and Griswold were, at their own request,
excused from serving on said committee, and Messrs. Streett
and Stewart appointed in their stead.
Mr. L. A. J. Lamotte submitted the following order:
Ordered, That Mr. Polk be excused from the Session of
this House to-morrow.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Groome submitted the following order :
Ordered, That Mr. Penington be excused from attending
the Sessions of ibis House until Monday next.
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Penington,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Penington, Ford, of Queen
Anne's, Wilmer, Stewart and Young, of Allegany, to
introduce a bill to require all manufacturers and sellers
of fertilizes, within the limits of this State, to give such
protection to the consumers of such fertilizers as shall
secure them against all manner of frauds in the manufacture and sale thereof.
On motion of Mr. Phillips,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill to pay John Root, Collection of 10th Election
District of Carroll county, fur the year 1866, the sum of
seven dollars and forty-two cents, the same having been paid
by him improperly, into the Treasury of the State.
On motion of Mr. Langrell,
Ordered, That Mr. Bond be granted leave of absence un-
til next Wednesday.
On motion of Mr. Smith,
Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to introduce
a bill to incorporate the Bethlehem Methodist Episcopal
Church South, on Taylor's Island, Dorchester county.
On motion of Mr. Langrell,
Leave was granted to the Committee on the Chesapeake®
Bay audits Tributaries to introduce a bill to repeal the Act,
passed at January Session, 1870, chapter 369, entitled an
Act to repeal the Act passed at January Session, 1868, chap-
ter 406, entitled an Act to repeal the Act, passed the 23d of
March, 1867, chapter 184, entitled an Act to repeal Article
LXXI., of the Code of Public General Laws of the State of
Maryland, entitled "Oysters," and to re-enact the same
with amendments.
