Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-sions. Mr. Miller presented the petition of citizens of Frederick City, protesting against the [ag-ainst of a law removing the Mayor and City Council from office. Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on that subject. Mr. Smith presented the petition of S. F. Tyler, asking for a fence law on Hooper's Island, Dorchester County. Which was read and referred to the Dorchester delegation. Mr. Turner presented the petition of William Wilkins and fourteen others, in opposition to a change in the mortgage laws. Which was read, and referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. Mr. Johnson presented the petition of Cottman Cox and others, asking that Mary A. -Nichols be placed on the pension list. Also, The petition of Luther Kennedy and other citizens of Wi-comico County, asking that Eleanor Owens' name be placed on the pension list. Also, The petition of Win. G. Gordy and others, asking that Hetty Wright be placed on the [tension list. Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on Pensions. Mr. Jamart presented the petition of James 8. Morrow and ninety other citizens, asking the abolishing of coopering from the State Penitentiary. Which was read and referred (to the Committee on Manu- factures.
