152 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 25,
Mr. Young, of Allegany, presented the petition of the
Vestry and members of the German Evangelical Lutheran
Church of the City of Cumberland, Maryland, asking that
an appropriation may be made to the school attached to said
Church, to aid .'aid congregation in keeping up said school.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr Coles presented the petition of one hundred and forty
citizens of Election District No, 4, Allegany county, asking
the passage of law by the General Assembly of Maryland,
to divide said district in accordance with the lines laid down
in said petition.
Which was read, and referred to the Allegany delegation.
Mr Colton, of St. Mary's, presented (lie petition of E. E.
Shank and Mary Cullumber, widows of soldiers in the war
of 1812, asking to be replaced upon the list of pensioners,
and soliciting the payment of pension withheld during the
past two years.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Phillips presented the petition of T. W. Simpson,
Upton Radcliffe and forty-seven others, citizens or Frederick
county, praying that the stock and property of the Baltimore
and Ohio Railroad Company be taxed.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Porter presented the petition of the Trustees and El-
ders of the (German Evangelical Lutheran Trinity congrega-
tion of Cumberland, AIlegany county, Maryland, nuking
that an appropriation may be made to the school attached to
said Church, and to said congregation, in keeping up said
school.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Johnson presented the petition of Win. Williams and
others, asking that the name of Sally Fields be placed on
the pension list.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of citizens of Frederick
County, protesting against the law removing the Almshouse
