Mr. Chapman submitted the following message:
By THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
' April 1st, 1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate of Maryland:
We have received your message, asking the return of a
bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 33 and. 34 of chapter
364 of the Acts of 1870, entitled "oysters," and to re-enact
the following in lieu thereof, beg leave in response to say,
that said bill, the return of which is requested by your Hon-
orable Body, was a bill originating in this House, and after
being duly considered and passed, was sent to your Honora-
ble Body, and returned to this body, as passed by the Sen-
ate, having been read three times, in accordance with the
Constitution. The said bill was then engrossed and sent to
the Governor for his signature, and is not now within the con-
trol of this House. We must, therefore, beg to express our
regrets that we cannot comply with the request of your Hon-
orable Body.

Mr. Henkle submitted the following message:
BY TUB HOUSE OF DELEGATES,
April 1, 1872.
Gentlemen of the Senate:
We have received from your Honorable Body, House hill
entitled an Act to authorize and empower the Mayor and
City Council of Baltimore City, to endorse the first mortgage
bonds of the Baltimore and Drum Point Railroad Company,
to the amount of five hundred thousand dollars, reported un-
favorably from a Select Committee of your Body, and report
adopted.
We respectfully ask a Committee of Conference upon said
bill to be composed of three on the part of each House. We
have appointed on the part of this House, Messrs. Henkle,
Sparrow and Markland-
