Leave was granted to the CarroII delegation to introduce
a bill, entitled an Act authorizing the County Commissioners
for Carroll county to" subscribe to the capital stock of the
Mechanicsville and Finksburg Turnpike Road Company of
Car i oil county.
On motion of Mr. Turner,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate the Butchers'' and Drovers' Bank
of Baltimore.
On motion of Mr. Travel's,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Pensions to in-
troduce a bill) repeal chapter 477, Act, of 1870, relating to
pensions of soldiers and widows of soldiers of the war of
1812, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Eareckson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Agriculture to in-troduce a bill to repeal sections 1 and 2, article 87, of the
Public General Laws, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.
Mr. McCosker submitted tlio following
JOINT RESOLUTION:
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That our
Senators and Representatives in C ingress be requested to
use their influence to prevent the repeal of the Act of Decem-
ber 31, 1792, entitled an Act concerning the registering of
ships and other vessels.
Which was read, and referred to the (Committee on Fed-
eral Relations.
Mr. Griswold, Chairman of the Committee on the Judici-
ary, reported favorably,
A bill, entitled an Act to amen 1 chapter 126 of the laws.
passed January Session, 1870, entitled an Act to authorize-
the Faculty and Board of Trustees of the Washington Uni-
versity of Baltimore to use the real estate of said University,
situated on the corner of Culvert and Saratoga streets, in
Baltimore City, as a basis of credit to raise- a sum of money
not exce ding ten thousand dollars, by creating a ground
rent thereon, for the use of said University
Which was read a first time".
Also,
A bill, entitled an Act authorizing Dr. William Stewart,
guardian of John Walter, a minor, to pass his final ace ount
with the Orphans' Court of Somerset county.
