Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to Mr, Chap-
man, of Charles, on account of a death in his family.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Hilton submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the Special Committee of nine, on the
Frederick County Almshouse, be instructed to report to this
House to-morrow.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Miller submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that Mr.
Roach, member from Somerset, is detained from his seat in
this House by sickness in his family.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Tram's submitted the following order :
Ordered, That the Committee on Corporations inquire into
the reasons which control the Philadelphia, Wilmington and
Baltimore Railroad Company in making such discrimination
in their tolls for passengers and freights, between the way
stations on said road within this State.
Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Bowie,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to intro-
duce a bill in favor of Charles C. Hill, for money erroneously
paid to Inspectors of Tobacco in Baltimore City.
On motion of Mr. Smith,
Leave was granted to a Select Committee from Dorchester,
Queen Anne's and Somerset, to introduce a hill to repeal
chapter 189, passed at the January Session, 1870, referring
to Dorchester, Queen Anne's and Somerset counties.
On motion of Mr. Jamart,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Baltimore" and
Potomac Railroad Company, as shall place the said railroad
upon the same footing with the State of Maryland as the
Baltimore and Ohio Railroad now stands with said State.
On motion of. Mr. Foard, of Baltimore County,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill, entitled an Act to amend the Act incorpor-
ating the Western Maryland Railroad Company, and to give
.additional powers to said company.
