Mr. Miller presented the petition of Joseph Ford, asking
for a pension.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Groome presented the petition of John W. Holt and
seventy-six other citizens of Cecil county, asking the passage
of a law fixing the standard weight of oats at twenty-eight
pounds per bushel.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.
Mr. Street! presented the petition or Charles Bond and thir-
ty-five others, asking the passage of a law requiring the Balti-
more and Harford Turnpike Company to place their road in a.
good and safe .condition.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on-
that subject.
Mr. Baldwin presented the petition of Walter Fletcher, a
soldier of the war 1812, praying for a pension.
Also,
The petition of James Thompson, a soldier of (he war of
1812, praying for a pension. ~
Also,
The petition of Wm. Amos of James, a soldier of the war of
1812, praying for a pension.
Which were severally read, and referred to the Committee-
on Pensions.
Mr. Chaisty presented the petition of Ellen Dykes, widow of"
James Dykes, a soldier of the war of 1812, asking for a pension.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pensions.
Mr. Riley presented the petition of John Leithiser and seven-
teen other citizens of Harford county, asking for a pension.
for Eliza Hewlett, widow of Mathew Hewlett, who was a.
soldier of the war of 1812.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of one hundred and eighty-
two citizens of Frederick City, protesting against the passage
of a law re-distributing and increasing the wards, and thereby
increasing the number of officers in said city.
