Which was read, and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of Wm. H, B. Dorsey and
thirty-five other citizens of Frederick and Carroll counties,
asking for a law authorizing said Dorsey to dose a certain
piece of road over the line of Carroll and Frederick counties.
Which was read, and referred to Messrs. Miller, Routzahn,
Streett, Polk and H. H. Lamotte.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of Thos. G. Maynard and
others, of Libertytown, Frederick county, asking that said
town be incorporated.
Which was read, and referred to the Frederick delegation.
Mr. Colton, of Baltimore City, submitted the following
order:
Ordered, That the use of this Hall be granted the Rev.
Dr. Munsey, of Baltimore, on Thursday evening, the first of
February, {or the purpose of delivering a lecture.
Which was rejected.
Mr. Parker (.submitted the following order:
Ordered, That Mr. Franklin, of Worcester county, be
granted leave of absence for this day.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Deweese submitted the following order :
Ordered, That Dr. Hardcastle have leave of absence (or to-
day.
Which was adopted.
Mr. Bond submitted the following order :
Ordered, That a Special Committee (consisting of one
from each. of the tobacco-growing counties of the State) be
appointed to take into consideration the subject of Inspection
of Tobacco; and it in their judgment a change in the pres-
ent inspection laws shall be needed, leave shall be granted
Bind committee to report a "bill to provide for the inspection ;n
ot tobacco.
Which, was read.
Mr. Travers submitted the following amendment:
Strike out the words "Special Committee consoling of
oiiefioin each of the tobacco-growing counties of the State,"
and insert, the Committee on Inspections.
Which was rejected.
