1872.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES, 117 Mr. Riggs, Chairman of a Select Committee, (the rules being suspended,) reported favorably a bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 39, of Article XV., of the Code of Public. Local Laws entitled "Montgomery County," relating to Jus- tices of the Peace and Constables in said county, and to- re-enact the same so as to read as follows. Which was read a first time. The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following- message : BY THE SENATE, January 19, 1872. Gentlemen of the House of Delegates : We have received your message proposing the appoint- ment of a Joint Special Committee, whose duty it shall be to inform the Hon. George R. Dennis of his election to the- United States Senate. We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs- Comptuu and Fields. By order, AUGUSTUS GASSAWAY, Secretary _ Which was read. Also, delivered the following bill: A bill, entitled an Act directing the County Commis- sioners of Washington county, to issue bonds to raise money to build a Court House in said county, and appointing Com- missioners to contract to erect the same. Endorsed, "Passed by yeas and nays.'' Which was read a first time, and Referred to. the Select Committee on that subject. On motion of Mr. Stone, ' At 1 1/2 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until Tuesday-next, 23d inst., at 12 o'clock, noon. |
