Mr. Stone, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,
The bill entitled an Act for making further appropriations
for the support of the Government for the year ending the
first day of January, 1874.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In section 1, line 4, strike out the words, "January first,
eighteen hundred and seventy-four," and insert "thirty-first
of December, eighteen hundred and seventy-three."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendment:
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In section 1, under head of "Militia," at the end of line
5, add "one hundred thousand dollars."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Stone submitted, the following amendment;
AMENDMENT PBOPOSED.
At the end of line 6, title "Militia," insert, "for the sup-
port of Militta twenty-five thousand dollars."
Which was adopted.
Mr. Stone submitted the following amendments:
AMENDMENTS PROPOSED.
Under the title, '-'Baltimore City," strike out the first four
lines to the word "to."
In same section, line 9, strike out "twenty-five thousand,"
and insert "twenty thousand."
Which were severally read and adopted.
