A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of Article
XCVIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-
enact .the same with amendments.

Mr. Markland, Chairman of a Select Committee, to whom
was referred
The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 1 and 4, of
chapter 31, the Act of 1865, and section 1, chapter 440,
of the Acts of 1868, providing for the publication of laws,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
Said bill being upon a second reading,
The bill was then read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading, and
On motion of Mr. Stone,
Was referred, to the Committee on Ways and Means.
Mr. Smith, Chairman of a Select Committee, (the rules
being suspended,) reported favorably from the majority of
said Committee,
A bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified voters of any
election district in Washington county, and certain districts
in Allegany county, to determine by ballot whether drinking
houses may or may not be licensed within such election
district.
Which was considered.
Mr. Smith, from a minority of the same Committee, also
reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to enable the qualified voters of any
ward or election district in this State, to determine by ballot
whether drinking houses may or may not be licensed within
such ward or election district.
Which was considered.
Mr. Smith moved to substitute the minority for the ma
jority report of the Committee,
