1872.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 103 / On motion of Mr. Travers, Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to introduce a bill, to amend the charter of the Continental and Marine Insurance Company of Baltimore, to change its cor- porate name, and to correct certain irregularities in original thereof. On motion of Mr. Henkle, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, to amend chapter 126 of the Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to authorize the Faculty and Board of Trus- tees of the Washington University of Baltimore, to use the real estate of said University, situated at the corner of Calvert and Saratoga streets in Baltimore City, as a basis of credit to raise a sum of money not exceeding ten thousand dollars, by creating a ground rent thereon for the use of said University. On motion of Mr. Staylor, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, to amend section 1, chapter 473, Acts of 1870, entitled an Act to add an additional section to Article IV. of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police," and be section 827 of said Article. On motion of Mr. dark, of Baltimore City, Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to introduce a bill, to repeal section 1 of Article LXXII. of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Partnerships limi- ted," and to re-enact the same with amendments. On motion of Mr. Eareckson, Leave was granted Messrs. Eareckson, Ford of Queen Anne's and Wilmer, to introduce a bill to enact a law for the protection of fish and terrapins in the waters of Queen Anne's County. On motion of Mr. Litzinger, Leave was granted to the Baltimore County delegation to introduce a bill to repeal chapter 114 of the laws of 1870, en- titled an Act to incorporate Towsontown, in Baltimore County. On motion of Mr. Feig, Leave was' granted to the Committee on Immigration to introduce a bill to appoint a Commissioner of Immigration to protect the interests of labor and agriculture in the State of Maryland, also, to receive and provide for all immigrants arriving at the port of Baltimore, in the State or Maryland. |
