1024 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 21, A bill entitled an Act to refund certain sums of money paid into the Treasury of the State by Thomas Wadigan, owner of the schooner Sarah Sophia, and H. M. Tiralla, owner of the schooner Hester Ann, for fines imposed upon them for violation of the Oyster Law, Which was read a first time. Also, favorably, A bill entitled an Act to authorize the payment of the amount due the Columbia and Port Deposit Railroad Com- pany, on the coupons of said Company received by the State. Which was read a first time. Mr. Hardcastle, from the Committee on Corporations, re- ported favorably, A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Maryland and. Delaware Ship Canal Company. Which was read a first time. Mr. Ford, of Queen Anne's, Chairman of the Committee on Pensions, reported under an order of the House, A bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1879, chapter 477, entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 386, which provides for paying pensions to the Maryland soldiers of the war 1812, and to the widows of deceased soldiers of that war ; also, to repeal the Act of 1868, chapter 432, pro- viding pensions for certain soldiers of the war of 1812, and widows of soldiers of the war of 1812, and to provide in lieu thereof for allowing pensions to certain soldiers and widows of soldiers of the war of 1812, and to enact the following in lieu thereof. Which was read a first time. Mr Penington, Chairman of a Select Committee, to whom -was referred The Senate bill entitled an Act to transfer the sum of money appropriated by chapter 383, section 1, Acts of the General Assembly of 1870, to the Elkton and Massey's Rail- road Company, from said Company to the Middletown and, Elkton Railroad Company, Reported back the same with proposed amendments.
