Leave was granted the Committee on Ways and Means to
report a bill to repeal the laws imposing the State tax, com-
monly known as the direct tax. i
On motion of Mr. Groome,
Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to repeal section 5, of Article XVIII., the
amended Code of Public General Laws, and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted the Committee on Ways and Means to
introduce a bill to submit to the qualified voters of Districts
Nos. 2 and 3, of Dorchester county, the question whether
spirituous or fermented liquors may or may not be amid in
said districts in said county.
On motion of Mr. Spencer,
Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to in-
troduce a bill to prevent the use of steam power by any Passenger
Railway, in Baltimore county, without consent of the
Commissioners of Baltimore county.
On motion of Streett,
Leave was granted the Harford delegation to introduce a
bill to enlarge the corporate powers of the Magnolia and
Stockton Turnpike Company, in Harford county.
On motion of Mr. Clark, of Baltimore City,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Collateral Loan Bank of
Baltimore City
On motion of Mr. McColgan,
Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to in-
troduce a bill to repeal section 27, of Article V., of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Appeals," and re-enact the
same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. McColgan,
leave was granted the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claims for
materials finished and labor done on the Oyster Polite Boat
Leila.
Mr. dark, of Baltimore City, from the Committee on the
Judiciary, reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to change the name of the vestry of
Cranmer Chapel, to that of the vestry of the "Church of
Our Saviour."
