Springier, and one hundred and forty-five others, in favor of the modi- fication of the Sunday Law. Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on that subject. Mr. Groome presented the petition of two hundred and thirty-two residents of Port Deposit and vicinity against any modification of the Sunday Law, by which liquor can be sold on Sunday in any part of the State. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways and means. Mr. Porter presented the petition of Denson Armstrong, and eighty-seven citizens of Frostburg, Allegany county, ask- ing for the passage of a law to prohibit the issuing of licenses in raid town, and to submit said law to a vote of the people. Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways . and Means. Mr. Groome submitted the following order : Ordered, That the use of this Hall be permitted for an ex- hibition of the \iutes of the Institution for the Instruction of Deaf and Dumb, on next Tuesday evening, between the hours of seven 'and eight o'clock. Which was adopted. Mr. Stone submitted the following order : Ordered, That the order passed 4th March, requiring the House of Delegates, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, to take a recess from three to eight, P. M., and to consider bills of a local character only, at the evening session, be and. the same is hereby rescinded. Which was read. On motion of Mr. Markland, Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in- troduce a bill to amend the charter of the Peabody Saving's Bank of Baltimore. On motion of Mr. Griswold, Leave was granted the Committee on Ways and Means to report a bill to repeal and re-enact section 10, of Article LVI , of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Licenses," sub-title "Brokers."
