_ Mr. Stone presented the petition of J. T. Oolton and other
citizens of Charles county, praying for a tax on dogs.
Which was read, and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.
Mr. Stewart presented the petition of Joseph Hankey, of
Baltimore, in relation to the Broadway and Locust Point
Ferry Company.
_ Which was read, and referred, to the Committee on Corporations.
Mr. Miller presented the petition of F. Brengle and others,
of Frederick county, asking a pension for Mrs. Susan Green,
widow of Benjamin Green, a soldier of the war of 1812.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
Mr. Whitson presented the petitions of Ruth Dye, Mary
Highberger, Catharine Schlossman, Catharine Sliffler, and
Mary Moore, asking for pensions.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee on
Pensions.
Mr. Streett presented the petition of Joshua Price and four-
teen other citizens of Harford and Baltimore counties, ask-
ing the) passage of a law requesting the Baltimore and Har-
ford Turnpike Company to place their road in a good and safe
condition.
Winch was read aud referred to the Select Committee on
that subject,
Mr, Chapman presented the petition of the County Com-
missioners, of Charles county, relating to the Frederick
county Almshouse and Hospital.
Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
that subject.
Mr. Colton, of Baltimore City, presented the petition of
Ichabod Jean. and thirty-four other citizens of Baltimore
City, in relation to the Mechanics' Lein Law.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
Mr. Groome p relented the petition of W. W. Reynolds C. L. Jamar, and ninety other citizens of Cecil county, asking
for an alteration in the laws of the State relating to wild
fowl.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Chesa-peake Bay and its Tributaries.
