Said bill being upon & second reading,
On motion of Mr. Porter,
The further consideration thereof wa postponed, and
Said bill referred to the Allegany delegation.
Mr. Hardcastle, from the Committee on Corporations, (the
rules being suspended,) reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to alter and amend an Act to incor-
porate the Trustees of the Male Free School, of Baltimore,
parsed in 1808, chapter 4, and the supplements thereto.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Langrell, from the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributa-
ries, (the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,
The Senate bill entitled an Act to protect Fish, in the
waters of Nanticoke river, from non-residents.
Which was read a second time.
The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Farmer's, Mer-
chant's and Mechanic's Association, of the State of Maryland,
Was read a second time, aud ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act passed at Janu-
ary Session, 1870, chapter 411. entitled an Act to add addi-
tional sections to Article LXIX.,of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Officers," regulating and prescribing the num-
ber and compensation of officers of the Senate and House of
Delegates, and repealing Acts inconsistent therewith,
Was rend a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.
The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 8, of Article.
XIII., of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Howard
County," sub-title "County Commissioners," as amended by
the Act of 1868, chapter 395, and to re-enact (he came with
amendments.
Being upon a second reading.
Mr. Linthicum submitted the following amendment :
AMENDMENT PROPOSED.
In line 3, of section 8, strike out all after the word "Com-
missioners," to the end of the section, and insert "four
per cant.," and the said County Commissioners shall, in the
general levy for State and County taxes, include an amount
sufficient to coyer the commission for collecting the whole of
eaid taxes, at the rate aforesaid.
