and Iron Manufacturing Company of Frederick county.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judici-
ary (the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,
A bill entitled an Act to give the sanction of the General
Assembly of Maryland to the acquisition and holding by the
Vestry of Port Tobacco Parish, in Charles county, of any quan-
tity of land in said county not exceeding sixty acres, for a
Parsonage.
Which was read a first time.
Also, a bill entitled an Act to legalize a supplement to the
Maryland Code containing the Acts of the General Assembly
passed at the sessions of 1861, 1861, 1862, 1864, 1865, 1866
and 1867, arranged in Articles and sections to correspond
with the Code by Lewis Mayer, and to appropriate a sum of
money to purchase copies of the same, and to regulate their
distribution.
Which was read a first time.
On motion of Mr. Murdock, (the rules being suspended,)
The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill entitl-
ed an Act for the relief of the Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town, and authorizing the raising, by taxation, the sum of
ten thousand dollars for the purposes and in the manner here-
inafter mentioned.
Said bill being upon a third reading.
