the waters of the Chesapeake Bay above Spesutia Island, in
Cecil and Harford counties.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Hammond, Chairman of the Committee on Education,
(the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to distribute the Academic
and High School fund of Carroll county, to the Western
Maryland College and Manchester Academy, in Carroll coun-
ty, without amendment,

Which was read a second time.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, (the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to add a new section to Article 16,
of the Code of Public General Laws, dentitle, "Chancery,"
sub-title, "Jurisdiction."

Which was read a first time.
Also, from a Select Committee,

A bill entitled an Act to amend section 140, Article 9, of
the Code of Public Local Laws for Charles county, title,
"Sheriff," by adding an additional clause to said section re-
gulating the compensation of the Sheriff for prisoners con-
fined in jail.

Which was read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Neill, (the rules being suspended.)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to incorporate the Western Maryland Extension
Railroad Company.

Said bill being upon a third reading,
