Said bill was then returned to the Senate.
On motion of Mr. Colton, (the rules being supended,)
It was ordered that the Select Committee of twenty-five, to
whom was referred the Senate bill in relation to the publica-
tion of the Laws, be reduced to seven.
And Messrs. Colton, Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, Ham-
mond, Meekins, Harris, Gorman, and Hilton, were constituted
said Committee.
Mr. Thomas, of Frederick, Chairman of the Committee on
Agriculture, reported unfavorably,
A bill entitled an Act to provide for the protection of sheep
in the counties of the State of Maryland, and for reimbursing
owners for losses sustained by them in killing or injuring
sheep by dogs.
Which was read.
On motion of Mr. Watkins,
The unfavorable report of the Committee was non-concurred
in, and the bill substituted theretor and read a first time.
Mr. Gatch, Chairman of a Select Committee, to whom was
referred the Senate bill entitled an Act to require the Mayor
