Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Baltimore Ceme-
tery Company.

On motion of Mr. Thomas, of Frederick,

Leave was granted the to Frederick delegation to introduce
a bill to repeal sections 49, 50, 51 and 52, of Article 11, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Frederick County,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore, Cal-
verton and Powhatan Railroad Company.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to confirm an Act passed by the
General Assembly of Virginia, entitled an Act to incorporate
the Shenandoah Valley Railroad Company, passed Feb, 23,
1867. Also, to confirm an Act passed by the Legislature of
West Virginia, entitled an Act to authorize the Shenandoah
Valley Railroa-i Company to construct their road through
the State of West Virginia to the Potomac river, passed Feb-
ruary 25, 1870, and to authorize the said company to extend ,
their road across the Potomac river and to Hagerstown, in
Washington county, in this State.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the White Hall and'
Pennsylvania Line Railroad Company.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of twenty-
five thousand nine hundred and forty-four dollars and sixty
cents, to pay the various mechanics and others the amounts-
due them for work and labor done, and material furnished
for the construction of an iron steam vessel for the State of
Maryland, for the use of the Oyster Police Force.-

Which was read a first time.
Also,

A bill entitled an Act to refund a sum of money to Isaac
R. Trimble for taxes paid by him erroneously into the State
Treasury.

Which was read a first time.
