certain documents.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Watkins presented the petition of citizens of Mont-
gomery county for a free railroad law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Shower submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Mr. Winters have leave of absence on ac-
count of sickness in his family.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Marshall submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Wm. H. Daywalt, officer of the House,
have leave of absence for two days.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Meekins,

Leave was granted to the Dorchester delegation to intro-
duce a bill regulating division fences in Dorchester county.

On motion of Mr. Marbury,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill taxing all the railroads in this State.

On motion of Mr. Richards,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to authorize and require the Philadelphia,
Wilmington and Baltimore Railroad Company to erect a side-
walk for foot passengers on the outside of the bridge across
the Susquebanna river.

On motion of Mr. Gorman,

Leave was granted to the Howard delegation and Mr. Hil-
ton, of Montgomery, to introduce a bill entitled an Act
supplementary and amendatory of an Act passed at the
January session, 1868, chapter 363, restricting the powers of
the County Commissioners of Howard county.

On motion of Mr. Standish

Leave was granted to the Allegany delegation to introduce
a bill to change the location of toll gates on the National
Road.

On motion of Mr. Cooper,
