936 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 22,

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the Cumberland Coal
and Iron Company to distribute certain of its assets among
its stockholders, and to reduce its capital.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3, of an Act
passed March 21st, 1867, (chapter 329,) entitled an Act to
provide for the selection, drawing and summoning of jurors
in the several counties, and prescribing their qualifications,
and also, section 2, of an Act passed and approved March 30,
1868, chapter 316, entitled an Act to repeal section 2, of an
Act passed March 21st, 1867, (chapter 329,) entitled an Act
to provide for the selection, drawing and summoning of jurors
in the several counties, and prescribing their qualifications,
and re-enact the same with amendments, and to re-enact the
said sections 2 and 3, with amendments.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Emmittsburg
Gas Light Company.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Bachman Valley
Railroad Company.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Corporations.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to regulate the sale by common
carriers of unclaimed freight, to pay the charges due thereon.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Also,

Senate Joint Resolution to remit colonization tax levied
under chapter 281, of 1831.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

On motion of Mr. Morse, (the rules being suspended,)

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to amend the charter of the Democratic Asso-
ciation of Baltimore.
