The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill made the order of the day for to-morrow, 23d inst.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

The House then proceeded to the consideration of the bill
entitled an Act making appropriations for the support of the
Government for the year ending the first day of January,
. 1872.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Chapman moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed until the general appropriation bill for 1870, as
printed with the amendments to be therein inserted, be laid
on the desks of members.
