Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act providing for the erection of an ad-
ditional Live Stock Scale, and appropriating a sum of money
therefor.

Which was read a first time.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act supplementary to an Act passed at
the January session, 1867, chapter 247, entitled an Act to
establish and incorporate an Asylum for the Deaf and Dumb
of the State of Maryland, and also an Act passed at the
January session, 1868, chapter 409, entitled an Act to amend
and add additional sections to the Act of 1867, chapter 247.

Which was read a first time.
Also, reported unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act appropriating the sum of twenty-
five thousand dollars for the repair of that part of the Na-
tional Road, lying in the -State of Maryland, and running
from Cumberland to the Pennsylvania line.

The unfavorable report was adopted.
Also, reported unfavorably,

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money to
the House of Refuge to complete the building now in course
of erection in Baltimore county, for the use of that institu-
tion.

The unfavorable report was adopted.
Also, reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend section 62, of
Article 81, of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
the redemption of Real Estate, sold for taxes, as amended by
the Act of 1862, chapter 133, with proposed amendment :

AMENDMENT PROPOSED.

Sec. 52, line 9, strike out the word ''twenty," and insert
in lieu thereof: fifteen.

The amendment was adopted,

And the bill as amended read a second time.

Mr. Harris, Chairman of a Select Committee reported fa-
vorably,

A bill entitled an Act to make valid the bequests of Cathe-
rine Reynolds.
