bot county, praying the enactment of a law for the protec-
tion of sheep by tax ng dogs.

Reported back the same, asked to be discharged from the
further consideration thereof, and that they be referred to
the Committee on Agriculture.

The Committee were discharged and the petitions so refer-
red.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot, submitted the following order :

Ordered, That an additional member be added to the Com-
mittee on" Militia, in place of Mr, Streett, who is -detained
from his seat by severe illness.

Which was adopted.

And Mr. Hopkins appointed on said Committee.

Mr. Gatch submitted the following order :

Ordered, That C. J. Shipley have leave of absence until
Friday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Standish submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Wil-
son is detained from his seat on account of sickness in his
family.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Owings submitted the following order :
Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that if Mr.
Owings had been present, he would have assented to the re-
port of the Committee on the Tobacco Warehouse, when pre-
sented to the House.
Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal section 39, of Article 18, of the Code
of Public General Laws, entitled "Clerk of the Court of
Appeals," and re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Gatch,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the White Hall and Pennsyl-
vania Line Railroad Company.

On motion of Mr. Watkins,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to amend the 5th Article, of the Public Gen-
eral Laws, relating to appeals from Courts of Law and
Equity.
