Mr. Touchstone submitted the following order :
Ordered, That Messrs. Owens and Richards, of Cecil, have-
leave of absence till Tuesday next.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Wilson, of Baltimore city, submitted the following-
order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Messrs-
Wiley and Marshall are absent from their seats on account
of important duties.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Shower submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Airheart Winters have leave of absence un-
til Monday next.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Hardcastle, of Caroline,

Leave was granted to the Caroline delegation and Mr.
Hardcastle, of Talbot, to introduce a bill entitled an Act sup-
plementary to an Act entitled "an Act to incorporate the
Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company," passed January
session, 1854, chapter 274.

On motion of Mr. Veitch,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate Mizpah Lodge, No. 144, of
Ancient Free and Accepted Masons.

On motion of Mr. Turner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled an Act to prohibit the issuing of any
license for the sale of spirituous or fermented liquors within
one mile of Holly Grove, in Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel,

Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel delegation to in-
troduce a bill to prevent the sale of intoxicating or spirituous
liquors within half a mile of the school house in school dis-
trict No. 9, of Anne Arundel county.

Mr, Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the payment
of a sum of money to Charles E. Hayward, State's Attorney
for Dorchester county, for professional services rendered the-
State, without amendments.

Mr. Shipley, Chairman of a Select Committee, reported
favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate and endow the Tow-
sontown Institute for academic and educational purposes.

Which was read a first time.
