Mr. Morse, Chairman of the Committee on Corporations,
(the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Western Mary-
land Extension Railroad Company.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Marbury, Chairman of a Select Committee, (the rules
being suspended,) reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of the Corpo-
ration of Bladensburg, in Prince George's county, passed
March 9th, 1854.

Which was read a first time.
On motion of Mr. Merrick,

At 3 1/4 o'clock, P. M., the House took a recess until 8
o'clock this P. M.

NIGHT SESSION.

FRIDAY, March 18, 8 o'clock, P. M.
The House met.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Shipley, Gatch, Turner, Hammond, Hardcastle, of Talbot,
Lankford, Harrington, Woolford, Touchstone, Owens, Rich-
ards, Marbury, Duvall, Thomas, of Queen Anne's, Purnell,
Ritter, White, Ady, Baldwin, of Harford, Hardcastle, of
Caroline, Garey, Sanner, Hamilton, Cooper, Blake, Webb,
Wilson, of Baltimore city, McLane, Colton, Kirk, Markland,
Hoblitzell, Sword, Hilton, Veitch, Kean, Standish, Myers,
Percy, Shower, Merrick, Crawford, Gordy—52.

On motion of Mr. Hoblitzell, (the rules being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the bill enti-
tled an Act to repeal sections seven, seventeen and eighteen of
Article fifty-five, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"State Librarian," and re-enact the same with amendments.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Hoblitzell moved that the bill be recommitted to the
Committee on the Library.

Which was decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Merrick, (the rules being suspended,)

The House proceeded to the consideration of the Senate bill
