OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES.

The House then proceeded to the consideration of the next
order of the day,

Being the bill entitled an Act to appropriate the sum of
sixty-nine thousand, two hundred and ninety-six dollars and
twenty-eight cents, to pay the various mechanics and others,
the amounts due them for work and labor done, and mate-
rials furnished, in the erection of the Governor's Mansion at
Annapolis, and the enclosure and improvement of the grounds
surrounding the same.

Said bill being upon a second reading.

Mr. Biddle submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, line 4, strike out the words "forty-nine thou-
sand five hundred and thirty-one dollars and forty-three
cents," and insert the words : thirteen thousand, three hun-
dred and sixty-one dollars and thirty-eight cents.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment,
