Mr. Neill presented the petition of the retail liquor dealers
of Hagerstown, praying the passage of a law punishing mi-
nors who may purchase, or offer to purchase, any description
of liquor.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Watkins presented the petition of Henry Bradley,
Samuel Wilson, E B. Prettyman and others, to the Gene-
ral Assembly of Maryland, for the protection and promotion
of sheep raising.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agri-
culture.

Mr. Thomas, of Queen Anne's, submitted the following
order: .

Ordered, That Mr. Brown have leave of absence until
Tuesday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Ehlen submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Hon.
Isaiah Gardner is absent from his seat on account of sick-
ness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Welty submitted the following order :

for Saturday and Monday next, on account of imperative
