his seat.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Marshall submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal, that Mr.
Gardner is absent from his seat in the House on account of

illness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. -Garey submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Veitch
is detained from his seat on account of sickness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Richards submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the House meet in daily session until the
end of this session, and that there be evening sessions every

other evening, commencing this evening, at 8 o'clock, and

every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, until otherwise or-
dered.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot, submitted the following order :

WHEREAS, This House has heard with profound regret, of
the death in this city of William Quimby, a faithful and

efficient officer of the Senate, and

Whereas, It is proper that due respect should be .paid to
his memory, therefore

Ordered, That the Speaker of the House be, and he is
hereby requested to depute an officer of this body, to act in

concert with an officer of the Senate, to make suitable ar-
rangements for the conveyance of the remains of the deceased
to the residence of his family, in Talbot county, and that
said officer accompany the same to their destination.

Which was adopted.

The Speaker deputed on the part of the House, Esma Low,

of Caroline county.

Mr. Beck submitted the following order :

Ordered, That G. M. Hartt, Assistant Postmaster, have
leaves of absence until Monday next.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hopkins submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that Mr.
Streett is detained from his seat by sickness.
