An Act to amend an Act passed at the January session,
1867, of the General Assembly of Maryland, chapter 219,
entitled an Act to incorporate the Monumental Fire Insur-
ance Company of Baltimore, and to change the name of said
corporation, and to enlarge its powers.

Mr. Woolford presented the petition of Levin Philips, Sam-
uel M. Traverse, James Craig, M. M. Traverse and 32,citizens
of Dorchester county, praying a repeal of the law requiring the
inspection of wood.
Also the petition of Levin T. Dunnock, Wm. E. Kirwin,
Levi D. Traverse and 38 other citizens of Dorchester county,
praying a repeal of the law requiring the inspection of wood.
Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Inspections.
Mr. Brown presented the petition of Wm. E. Mason and 30
others for a new election district in. Queen June's county, to
be carved out of 3d election district thereof.
Also the petition of John Brown and 40 others, citizens of
Queen Anne's county, for a law protecting sheep and lambs
from dogs.
Which were severally read and referred to the Queen Anne's
delegation, and Mr. Hardcastle, of Talbot.
