Labor and Agriculture, and to continue the said Department
for four years from the expiration of the term of office of the
present Superintendent.

On motion of Mr. Ritter,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill entitled an Act to repeal section one hundred and
ten, of Article eleven, of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Frederick county, relating to the powers and duties of the
Mayor, Aldermen and Common Council of Frederick, and
also section one hundred and eigteen of an Act passed Janu-
ary session, 1864, chapter 1, entitled an Act to repeal section
one hundred and eighteen, &c., and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judici-
ary, reported unfavorably upon a bill entitled an Act to re-
peal section 13, of Article 51, of the Code of Public General
Laws, relating to the civil jurisdiction of Justices of the
Peace, and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Which was read.

The question recurring upon the adoption of the unfavora-
ble report of the Committee,

Mr. Bowlus moved to substitute the bill for the unfavora-
ble report of the Committee.

Pending the consideration of which,
On motion of Mr. Chapman,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill ordered to be printed.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported a bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum
of money for repairing the sidewalk and paving the bed of
the street on the Public Circle surrounding the grounds of
the State House,

Asked to be discharged from the further consideration
thereof, and that the bill be referred to the Committee on
Public Buildings.

The Committee was,discharged, and the bill referred to the
Committee on Public Buildings.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act for the relief of John H. B. La-
trobe, and authorizing the Appeal Tax Court of Baltimore
