Mr. Lankford submitted the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 18, 1870.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message proposing that the Com-
mittee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries, of each
House, be made a Joint Committee, for the purpose of con-
sidering and reporting such alterations and amendments to
the existing Oyster law as may be deemed expedient, and
that said Joint Committee have power to send for persons
and papers, and concur therein.

MILTON Y. KIDD,

Chief Clerk.

Which was read, assented to, and sent to the Senate:
Mr, Kilbourn submitted the following order :

Ordered. That two additional members be added to the
Committee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries.

Which was adopted.

And Mr. Wells, of Anne Arundel, and Mr. Chapman were
appointed upon said Committee.

On motion of Mr. Markland,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to enlarge the corporate power of the Maryland
Baptist Union Association, in relation to the holding of
property.

On motion of Mr. Gatch,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill for the incorporation of Towsontown, in Bal-
timore county.

On motion of Mr. Gatch,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
county to build a bridge over the Gunpowder river, at War-
ren factory, in the event of the failure of the present consti-
tuted authority to do so by the time of the next general levy.

Mr. Webb submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Chief Clerk be directed to have the
Committee rooms properly furnished.
