Which was read and referred to the Talbot delegation and
Mr. Brown.

Mr. Woolford presented

The petition of J. J. Skinner, J. S. B. Woolford, and 84
other citizens of Dorchester county, asking for a repeal of the
law requiring inspection of wood.

Also,

The petition of L. J. Bell, L. L. Lmthicum, and 52 other
citizens of Dorchester county, praying for a repeal of the
present law requiring inspection of wood.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Inspections.

Mr. Harrington presented the petition of Dr. B. L. Smith
and 30 other citizens of Dorchester county, praying for a re-
peal of the present law requiring the inspection of wood.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tions.

Mr. Hoblitzell presented the petition of Wm. G. Harrison,
Johns Hopkins, and other citizens of Baltimore, against ap-
propriations in aid of Benevolent Institutions

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Brattan presented the petition of Josiah M. Pollitts
and 53 other citizens of Somerset county, praying for the
passage of a law permitting children living upon the border
lines of counties to have the privilege of attending school in
the county other than that in which they may reside, and to
provide for the payment thereof.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Collins submitted the following order :
Ordered, That John F. Ehlen be granted leave of absence
for one week.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Gatch submitted the following order:

Ordered, That Columbus J. Shipley have leave of absence
until Monday next,

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. McCreery,

Leave was granted tp the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Iron and Coal Company
of Frederick county.
