Was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to add an additional section to
Article 14, of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Hills of Exchange and Promissory Notes," and be section
10, of said Article,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Hoblitzell submitted the.following amendment :

Sec. 10, line 1, strike out the word "that," before the
word "when " ,

Which was adopted.

And the "bill, as amended, read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a, third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 18, of Article
73, of the Public General Laws, entitled "Penitentiary,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Hoblitzell moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed, and the bill made the order of the day for
Monday next.

Decided in the negative.
On motion of Mr. Hopkins,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill made the order of the day fur Tuesday, 15th inst.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 6, of chapter 385,
of the Laws of Maryland, passed January session, 1868, en-
titled an Act to provide by law for taking and perpetuating
the evidence of the number of persons held to labor and ser-
vice in the State of Maryland and emancipated by the Con-
stitution adopted in the year 1864, and by whom such per-
sons were so held, passed March 22, 1869, and substitute in
lieu thereof the following section,

Was tead a second time and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to provide for maintaining and
keeping in repair the public roads of Anne Arundel county,
and to repeal the Act passed at January session, 1868, chap.
299, so far as the same applies to Anne Arundel county,
