sheep in Queen Anne's, Dorchester, Wicomico and Somer-
set counties, and for reimbursing owners of sheep for dam-
ages sustained by them in the killing or injuring of sheep by
dogs,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3, of Article 43,
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Habeas Cor-
pus," and to re-enact the same with, an additional proviso,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Berlin Bridge
Company of Frederick county,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to extend the corporate powers of
the Cumberland and Somerset Turnpike Road Company, in-
corporated by the Act of 1841, chapter 60, and the supple-
ment thereto, passed by the Act of 1842, chapter 96, until
the year 1900,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage :

BY THE SENATE,

March 9, 1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received your message proposing the appoint-
ment of a Committee, consisting of three on the part of the
House, and two on the part of the Senate, to confer upon
Senate action adopting an unfavorable report from Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings, upon House bill entitled an Act
to add an additional section to Article 12, of the Code of
Public Local Laws, entitled "Harford county," sub-title
"State's Attorney," and concur therein. We have appointed
on the part of the Senate Messrs. Stephenson and Maddox.
