The petition of the Commercial Travelers of Baltimore,
opposing the extension of the Baltimore city license law to
non-resident traders, and asking its repeal.

Also,

The petition of Tallant, Brothers & Co., and other mer-
chants, asking a repeal of the Baltimore city license law,
against non-resident traders, and opposing its extension
throughout the State.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Ways and Means.

Mr. Hardcastle, of Caroline, presented the petition of W.
C. Latterfield, and 45 citizens of Caroline county, praying
for the passage of a law repealing the present law requiring
inspection of wood.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspee-
tions.

Mr. McLane presented the petition of the Executive Com-
mittee, Maryland Agricultural and Mechanical Association,
asking appropriation.

Which was lead and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Brown presented the petition of Hon. J. M. Robinson
in behalf of the citizens of Queen Anne's county, for legisla-
tion protecting the oyster beds in the waters of said county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Chesapeake bay and its tributaries.

Mr. Bowlus presented the petition of H, Boteler, Joseph
Easterday, and 60 other citizens of Frederick county, pro-
testing against the passage of any law prohibiting the tak-
ing of fish in Catoctin creek by nets.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick delegation.
Also,

The petition of G. W. Powder, G. F. Grove, and 20 other
citizens of Frederick county, praying the passage of a law
requiring all municipal and borough corporations in said
county, to pay all jail fees and other expenses incurred in
commitment of prisoners by the authorities of such corpora-
tion.

Which was read and referred to the same delegation.

Mr. Ritter presented the petition of Catharine Hamilton
for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
