Mr. Seibert presented the petition of Benj. T. Spesard, Jas.
W. Leggett, and 150 other citizens, of Washington county,
asking a charter to build a Turnpike road from the Hagers-
town and Waynesborough Turnpike, at or near Leitersburg,
to intersect the Smithsburg and Hagerstown Turnpike, at or
near Daniel Spesard's barn on said road as now laid out it
Washington county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpora-
tions.

Mr. Mitchell presented the petition of Wm. Schley, of
Baltimore city, for compensation for legal services rendered
the State.

Which, was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Ritter presented the petition of D. J. Markey, Presi-
dent of the Board of Trustees of the Frederick Female Semi-
nary.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Blake submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the use of this Hall be granted to the House
of Refuge Band, on Tuesday evening, March 15th, and that
none be admitted to the Hall but members of the two Houses
of the General Assembly, and those that may be furnished
with tickets of admission by the Speaker.

Mr. Baldwin submitted the following amendment:

Strikeout the word "Hall," after the word "the," and
insert the words : floor of the House.

Which was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order.

It was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Sanner,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Sanner, Wiley and Ehlen
to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal section 640, of
Article 4, of Public Local Laws of Baltimore city, and to
re-enact the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill authorizing the Appeal Tax Court of Bal-
timore city to re-assess the property of John H. B. Latrobe,
in said city.
