On motion of Mr. Cooper,

Leave was granted to the Judiciary Committee to introduce a
bill to repeal and re-enact with amendments, sections 170,
Article 30, Public General Laws, entitled "Crimes and
Punishments," sub-title "Rivers."

On motion of Mr. Richards,

Leave was granted to the Cecil county delegation to intro-
duce a bill for the further protection of partridges in Cecil
county.

Mr. Kean submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Percy be granted a leave of absence
until to-morrow.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Owens submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Jordan, of Carroll county, be granted
a leave of absence for one day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Shower submitted the following order ;

Ordered, That Messrs. Winters and Grouse be excused for
one day, on account of not being able to make connections with
the cars.

Which was adopted.

Mr. McLane submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Adjutant General be requested to in-
form this House what amount of money has been paid over
to him under section 8, chapter 414, Act of 1868, on ac-
count of commutations or fines under the Militia Law.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Gorman,

Leave was granted to Messrs. German, Merrick and Kil-
bourn, Select Committee, to report a bill to repeal section
25, Article 13, Public Local Laws, Howard county, entitled,
"Justices of the Peace and Constables," and re-enact the
same, with amendments.

On motion of Mr. Kilbourn,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate Mount Hope Retreat in Balti-
more county.

On motion of Mr. McLane,

Leave was granted to the Judiciary Committee to intro-
