Colton, Kirk, Collins, Ehlen, Gardner, Markland, Marshall,
Murdock, Sword, Seibert, Hilton, Veitch, Watkins, Kean.
Wilson, of Allegany, Standisb, Percy, Jordan, Winters,
Merrick, Gortnan, Gordy—62.

Mr. Colton presented the petition of J. L. McPhail, for
services rendered in detecting frauds in bounty claims.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims,

Mr. Harrington presented the petition of Washington A.
Smith and 60 others, citizens of Hooper's Island district, in
Dorchester county, praying the passage of a law authorizing
and empowering the County Commissioners of said county,
to erect a bridge over Hooper's Island Ferry in said county.

Which was read and referred to the Dorchester delegation.

Mr. Dennis presented the petition of Francis J. Hayman
and 80 others, citizens of Somerset and Worcester counties,
for a change in the School regulations in said counties.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Garey presented the petition of Elender Wright, ask-
ing or a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. McLane presented the petition of M. G. Harrison.
Johns Hopkins, W. Bollman, Chas J. Baker and many
others, against granting public monies to individuals or as-
sociations in aid of benevolence.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Hopkins presented the petition of William Barnes for
a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Woolford submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal, that George
J. Meekins is detained from his seat by sickness.
Which was adopted.

Mr. Martin submitted the following order:

Ordered, That the Select Committee appointed to examine
into the affairs of the State Tobacco Warehouses, have leave
to sit during the sessions of this House.
