table and benevolent institutions, which are beneficiaries of
the State, and report upon the condition and needs of the
same to this General Assembly, and non-coucur therein.

We would suggest for the consideration of your Hon. Body
the appointment of a Joint Committee of three members on
the part of the Senate, and five on the part of the House, to
visit the reformatory and beneficiary institutions of the State,
located in the City of Baltimore and vicinity, including the
State Normal School, and report thereon, and to this pro-
position, wegfespectfully ask the concurrence of your Hon.
Body.

We have appointed on the part of the Senate, Messrs.
Kimmel, Stephenson and Maddox,

Jan. 13, 1870.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates:

We have received your message respecting the proper in-
terment of the Confederate dead at Antietam and Gettys-
burg, and respectfully concur therein, and have named on
the part of the Senate, Messrs. Olarke, Hyland and Garroll.

Which was read,

Mr. Gatch moved that the House do now adjourn.
Decided in the negative.

Mr. Wells, (the rules being suspended,) presented the
petition of Wm. Brown, praying that he may have a pension
granted him.

Which was lead, and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

T. Baker Edelin, officer elect, appeared, qualified, and en-
tered upon the discharge of his duties.

On motion of Mr. Shipley,

At 1 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until Monday
next, at 12 o'clock, M.
