On motion of Mr. Gatch,

Leave was granted to the Baltimore county delegation to
introduce a bill to authorize the County Commissioners of
Baltimore county to indemnify August Weiss for the destruc-
tion of his property by a mob.

On Motion of Mr. Sanner,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments to introduce a bill entitled an Act to repeal an Act
passed January session, 1867, entitled an Act to repeal sec-
tion 9, of the Act of January Session, 1866, chapter 119, in-
corporating the Union Railroad Company, of Baltimore, and
re-enacting the same with amendments, and also to add ad-
ditional sections thereto; to repeal the 4th, 6th, 9th and
10th sections incorporating said Company, and to re-enact
the same with amendments.

On motion of Mr. McCreery,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to repeal section 41, of Article 51, of the
Code of Public General Laws relating to attachments issued
by Justices of the Peace, and re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

On motion of Mr. Streett,

Leave was granted to the Harford delegation to introduce
a bill to authorize John H. Stokes, of Harford county, sur-
viving Trustee, to sell and convey a parcel of land to the
Trustees of Deer Creek Monthly Meeting of Friends, for the
use of their members at Broad Creek Meeting.

Mr. Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims to
whom had been referred papers in reference to the claim of
Duncan McPherson against the State, reported back the
same, asked to be discharged from the further consideration
thereof, and that the said papers be referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

The Committee was discharged, and the papers so referred.

Mr. Marbury, Chairman of the Committee on Internal
Improvements to whom had been referred the message of the
Governor, together with accompanying documents from the
Board of Public Works, contained in the report made to the
Governor in compliance with section 2, Article 12, of the
Constitution, reported back the same, and that the Commit-
tee had examined said papers and found them correct.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judici-
ary, reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to add the following sections to
Article 75, of the Code, sub-title "Practice" to come in after
section 58.
