Mr. Owens, Chairman of a Select Committee, (the rules
being suspended,) reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the pres-
ent Trustees of the Lower West Nottingham Presbyterian
Church, or their successors, to receive and hold by convey-
ance from William Little, three acres of land in Cecil county,
to be used as a Cemetery, and to hold the same in trust for
said purpose,

Which was read a first time.

On motion of Mr. Owens,

At 10 o'clock, P. M., the House adjourned until to-mor-
row morning at 11 o'clock.

THURSDAY, March 3d, 1870.
The House met.

Present at the call of the roll, the following members :

Ritter, White, Baldwin, of Harford, Streett, Hopkins, Hard-
castle, of Caroline, Hamilton, Cooper, Morse, Webb, Wilson,
of Baltimore city, Wiley, McLane, Colton, Kirk, Collins,
Gardner, Marshall, Neill, Murdock, Sword, Seibert, Hilton,
Veitch, Watkins, Myers, Percy, Shower, Jordan, Winters,
Crouse, Merrick, Crawford—57.

The Speaker laid before the House the petition of Poultney
& Trimble, for a claim against the State of Maryland.

Also,

The petition of R. N. Waters & Co., for a claim against the
State of Maryland.

Also,

The petition of Duncan McPherson, for claim against the
State of Maryland.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Claims.

Mr. Dennis presented the petition of Haste W. Dashield,
for a pension.
