So the amendment submitted by Mr. Marbury was re-
jected.

The bill as amended, was then read a second time and or-
dered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to authorize the sloping for
oysters in certain waters of Dorchester county,

Was read a second time.

Mr. Lankford moved that the said bill be printed.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Harrington, by unanimous consent, submitted the fol-
lowing amendment:

Sec. 1, line 3, strike out the words: "Residents of Dor-
chester county," and insert the words: "Citizens of this
State.

Which was adopted,

And the bill as amended read a second time and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Watkins moved that the House do now adjourn.
Decided in the negative.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of the Committee on Ways and
Means, (the rules being suspended,) reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal the" sections from 44 to 55
both inclusive, sub-title "Traders," and the sections from 60
to 69, both inclusive, sub-title "Spiritous or Fermented
Liquors by Retailers," and the sections from 73 to 84, both
inclusive, and section 86 of sub-title "Oyster or Eating
Houses,''of the 56th Article of the Code of Public General
Laws, entitled "Licenses," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Veitch moved that the House do now adjourn.

Decided in the negative.

On motion of Mr. Baldwin, of Anne Arundel, (the rules
being suspended,)

Leave was granted to the Anne Arundel delegation to in-
troduce a bill to authorize the appointment, in the 8th dis-
trict of Anne Arundel county, of an additional Justice of the
Peace.
