Be it enacted, That whenever any street, lane, avenue or
alley shall hereafter be condemned, laid out and opened,
under the provisions of this Act, the owners of a majority of
feet fronting on any such street, lane, avenue or alley, shall
determine the nature and character of the material to be used
in the construction thereof.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Gatch submitted the following amendment:
Add at the end of section 12.

Provided, That nothing in the provisions of this Act shall
be construed to authorize the Commissioners of Baltimore
county to lay off streets through the Almshouse property of
said county, unless the same has been first submitted to a
vote of the citizens of said county, and approved by a majori-
ty of them.

Which was adopted, and

The bill as amended, read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 139, 140, 141,
142, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148, of the Code of Public
Local Laws for Somerset county ,.relating to retailers, and to
re-enact the same with amendments,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend Article 34 of the Code
of Public General Laws, relating to the Public Debt, by re-
pealing the second section thereof, and substituting another
section in its place,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

The vote by which the bill was ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading was reconsidered.

The question then being upon the engrossment of the bill,
On motion of Mr. Merrick,
Said bill was laid on the table.

The bill entitlod an Act to establish voting precincts in the .
seventh election district of Baltimore county,

Was read the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act authorizing and empowering the
County Commissioners of Cecil county, in their discretion,
