Commissioners of the Corporation of Smithsburg to introduce
into said town any body of water that may be necessary for
a full supply for said town,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act for the relief of Miss Margaret H.
Armstrong, of Baltimore county,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to prevent swine from running at
large in the first district of Cecil county,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Biddle submitted the following amendments:

Section 1, line 3, after the word "first," insert the words :
and third.

Add the letter " s " to the word district wherever it occurs-
in the bill.

Which were severally read, and adopted, and

The bill as amended, read a second time and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend the Public General Laws
passed January session 1865, chapter 31, so as to exempt
Wicomico county fiom the effect of the second section thereof,
so far as it relates to the publication of laws,

Being upon a second reading,

Mr. Crawford submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 1, in lines 3 and 5, after the word "Wicomico," insert
the words : and Dorchester.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Gordy submitted the following amendment:

Sec. 1, line 2, after the word "second," insert the words :
and third.

Which was adopted.

Also, the following amendment:

Sec. 1, line 4, strike out the word '"all," where it occurs-
before the word "local."

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

The hour having arrived for taking up the order of the-
day, the House proceeded to the consideration of the unfin-
ished business of Saturday last, being the bill entitled an Act
to relieve and protect the cotton and woolen Factories of the
State of Maryland,
