The bill as amended was then read a second time, and

ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

On motion of Mr. Garey, (the rules being suspended.)

Leave was granted to the Caroline delegation and Mr.
Hammond to introduce a bill to provide for maintaining and
keeping in repair the public roads of Caroline county, an 1 to
repeal the Act passed at January session, 1867, chapter 289,

entitled an Act to add a new article to the Code of Public
Laws of Caroline and Talbot counties, sub-title "Public
Roads," so far as the provisions of said Act extend to Caro-
line county, and to re-enact the same with amendments

The bill entitled an Act to add a further supplement to an
Act to incorporate the Weverton Manufacturing Company,
passed at December session 1834, chapter 144, appointing
certain persons directors, and regulating the time and place

of holding the first meeting of stockholders,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed at the

January session, 1867, of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, chapter 219, entitled an Act to incorporate the Monu-
mental Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore, and to change
the name of said corporation and to enlarge its powers,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossad for a
tthird reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal sections 29R and 3'2 of
Article 21 of the Public Local Laws of Washington county,
and to re-enact the same with amendments, and to add a
sub-section thereto,

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a

third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to regulate fees of the Sheriff of
"Worcester county, so far as relates to board of prisoners,

Beintr upon a second reading,

Mr. Purnell submitted the following amendment:

Strike out section 2.

The amendment was adopted,

And the bill as amended read a second time, and ordered
to be engrossed for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act tor the relief of Daniel Ararat of
Anne Arundel county, and authorizing the Commissioners of

said county to correct errors in his assessment,
Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a

third reading.
