Which was adopted.

Mr. Wells submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the use of the Hall of the House of Delegates
is hereby granted to Mr. Win. Harwood, who proposes to
deliver therein a Lecture on "The American Union," on
Wednesday, the nineteenth of this month, at half-past seven
o'clock, P. M.

Which was adopted,

On motion of Mr. Merrick,

Leave was granted to Messrs, Shipley, Merrick, German
and Choate, to introduce a bill to amend an Act passed Janu-
ary Session, eighteen hundred and sixty, entitled, "An Act to
incorporate the Carrollton Avenue Company."

On motion of Mr. Martin,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Ways and Means
to introduce a bill to appropriate a sum of money to erect a
Cemetery for the remains of the Confederate dead at Point
Lookout.

On motion of Mr. Loker,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Loker, Martin and Chapman,
to introduce a bill tor the protection of fish in the tributaries
of the Potomac river lying in Saint Mary's county, and to
regulate the time of hauling and length of seines to be hauled
in that portion of the Potomac river, lying between Cob Point
in Charles county and Point Lookout in Saint Mary's county.

On motion of Mr. Bowlus,

Leave was granted to the Frederick Delegation to introduce
a bill to amend the charter of the Frederick and Williamsport
Railroad Company.

Mr. Streett submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on the Judiciary inquire
into the expediency of the passage of a law allowing prison-
ers on trial for criminal offences free communication with
their counsel, during the progress of their trial.

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Duke,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Duke, of Calvert, and Loker,
of St Mary's, to introduce a bill to prevent the catching of oys-
ters, for sale, in the waters of Battle creek, St. Leonard's
creek and Island creek, in Calvert county.

On motion of Mr. Blake,

Leave was granted to the Committee on the Judiciary to
